How Do I Update To Windows 10 Version 1909
From what I have seen so far yous should exist able to do standard windows 10 updates to 1909. If you utilise the windows updates in windows x it should pull those in as standard. 2004 is listed separately beneath the normal update window and I believe you need to manually let the update. I've updated a couple of laptops this style to test out the new version. This might exist different if you are deploying your updates in another fashion.

I have had good luck with just copying the 1909 install folder/files to the HDD of the motorcar, and running setup from there.
If you lot run this on a lesser version, information technology will practise an in-place upgrade, saving all files/settings.
Trouble is that if y'all use the current Windows Media Creation tool, it will be 2004.
If you use the prior version Media Cosmos Tool, it will download 1909 (at least that is what I see from here. Nosotros have the 1909 installers on USB).
But bottom line if you tin find the installation sources for 1909, with the aforementioned X86 or X64 compages, the setup will do an upgrade.

Instead download windows 1909 enablement package which is just few MB from Microsoft itemize site .
Mail reboot your version will be changed to 1909 and receive updates for 1909 from that point.
If you are using WSUS or SCCM yous tin can corroborate this update for machines needed to be upgraded to 1909.

Then you must do it manually or script it. I would seriously await at upgrading to at Least Server 2012 for 2 reasons. 1 The ease of upgrades of Windows ten, and two, Server 2008 has been out of support from Microsoft since January 14, 2020. As time moves forward, you're allowing a larger attack surface every bit security issues found are not being patched for Server 2008.

Most of my PCs are running 1903. I set a 180 24-hour interval delay for feature updates, and Windows Update is now forcing 1909 on my PCs. That'southward fine; we've vetted it enough. No mention of 2004 so we're good.

Try using the Internet archive to access the Windows Update Assistant page from earlier the latest update was released (say Feb this yr) and download the older 1909 updater:

I realize this doesn't help with the current situation, only information technology may assistance in the hereafter. When a new Windows version comes out, I download the Media Cosmos Tool and download an .iso of that version. Storage is pretty cheap now, so even at ~4GB per version, it's not also big a deal to store an .iso of each.
If you lot exercise this for 2004, when twenty?? comes out, you'll accept a piece of cake time upgrading to 2004.
